Slide stop for CZ 75B

The slide stop of the CZ 75B performs two essential functions within the pistol. Besides acting as the manual slide catch, it also serves as the locking pin around which the barrel tilts during the locking and unlocking cycle. This dual-purpose design makes the slide stop one of the most highly stressed components in the pistol, as it is subjected to repeated impact forces every time the firearm is fired.

The locking pin passes through the barrel's cam surfaces and the frame, forming the pivot point that controls barrel movement during recoil. Accurate dimensions are therefore essential to maintain proper lock-up between the barrel and slide. Excessive wear on the bearing surfaces or locking pin can gradually influence barrel alignment and the consistency of the locking system.

Before fitting a new slide stop, the barrel cam surfaces and the corresponding holes in the frame should be inspected for signs of peening, wear or deformation. During assembly, the barrel must be correctly aligned with the takedown notch in the slide so the slide stop can be inserted without force. Once installed, the lever should move freely while providing positive engagement with the slide stop notch.
