G41 (W) Gastube

Unlike the later G43, the Walther G41(W) operates with the well-known Bang gas trap system, in which propellant gases are captured at the muzzle rather than being tapped from a gas port in the barrel. The gas tube forms a vital part of this mechanism, transferring the movement generated by the gas trap to the operating components that cycle the bolt.

As the rifle is fired, gas pressure acting on the gas trap drives the internal mechanism rearward through the gas tube. Because the tube is subjected to heat, fouling and repeated mechanical forces, corrosion, dents or internal wear can negatively affect the smooth operation of the gas system. A correctly fitted gas tube helps maintain reliable cycling and preserves the original operation of the G41(W).
