P08 Luger Ejector

The ejector is mounted on the left-hand side of the P08 Luger receiver and performs a dedicated function during the final stage of the operating cycle. As the toggle assembly travels rearward, the extracted cartridge case strikes the fixed ejector, causing it to pivot away from the bolt face and exit through the ejection port. Unlike many later self-loading pistols, the P08 employs a stationary ejector rather than a spring-loaded design.

Because the ejector is fixed in position, its dimensions and alignment are essential for consistent ejection. The contact face must present the correct profile to the cartridge case, while the mounting surfaces ensure the ejector remains securely positioned within the receiver. Wear, deformation or previous modifications can influence the ejection pattern and lead to inconsistent case clearance.

When replacing the ejector, it is advisable to inspect the extractor and the bolt face at the same time, as these components work together during extraction and ejection. Care should also be taken to ensure that the ejector seats correctly in the receiver without distortion or unnecessary force during installation.
