Each manufacturer had it's own unique code.
Carl Walther used the code "AC"
Gustloff Werke used the code "BCD"
Berlin-Lübecker Maschinenfabrik used the code "DUV"and "QVE"
The designation of the rifle was Gewehr 43 (G43) until November - December 1944 and changed to Karabiner 43 (K43) from then onwards.
